Andy Roddick defeated Andy Murray to reach the final at Wimbledon, where he will face five times champion Roger Federer. Roddick in the form of his life, helped by a change in tactics from
coach Larry Stefanki. Roddick won the match 6-4-, 4-6, 7-6, 7-6. Having won the first set, Murray fought back to take the second, but it was Roddick who looked likely to take the third set leading 5-2, only for Murray to fightback and force a tie-break which the American narrowly won.

Russia's Elena Dementieva. Serena came through in two hours and 48 minutes to win 6-7, 7-5, 8-6. Venus meanwhile came through her match with Russian world number one Dinara Safina in an embarrasingly one-sided affair to win 6-1, 6-0.
